Don’t Worry Be Happy
There is a study that shows us what to do to be happy. This may not be breaking news but here are the top four habits of happy people. First, according to this study from the University of Lancashire, UK, we need to move. Just get up and start moving, walking, dancing whatever it takes. Regular exercise and physical activity are directly connected to wellbeing and happiness. Second, get connected to others. Connection can be “horizontal” with others and/or “vertical” with God. Wellbeing and life satisfaction goes up when we spend time with others sharing life, praying, having fun or just listening. Start a “last minute club”. This is a group where each of us grant permission to each other to call or text at the last minute to go out and do something. It’s actually fun! Third, practice gratitude. Are you a grateful person? If so, do you take time to journal what you are grateful for in life each day? It is a great practice and reminder of all that we have in life. And finally, spend more time with pets. They often take us for walks and make the best cuddle buddies ever. Who else greets you each day like you are the king or queen of something? Being truly happy connects the mind, body and spirit. And when in that zone or flow, life can be amazing.
