Jesus Revolution Movie

My wife Susan and I just saw Jesus Revolution at a local theater. What a great movie. This morning I read that the movie has already crossed the $30-million mark since opening. The movie is based on a true story of a very traditional pastor played by Kelsey Grammer as Chuck Smith (can’t wait for Frasier 2.0) who meets a hippie, Jesus freak played by Jonathon Roumie (The Chosen). The story follows an explosive revival of faith in the 1960s and 1970s. And it highlights the beginning of Pastor Greg Laurie’s journey in California. It is nice to see quality movie making aimed at a target audience often left out by Hollywood. That said, Jesus Revolution debuted at #3 while Cocaine Bear was #2, go figure. According to press reports and box office results, Christians of all stripes and even non-Christians are enjoying the film. Groovie.
